She flicked an ear as she listened to his respose and almost smiled at the whole insane thing that had just hapened here. Not that it was particularly funny, but nerves caught up to her and it was the only thing she thought of in this moment. Her pale gaze observed falcon as he loped away from the angry reptile and she followed, that being the sensable choice. But not only that, for some reason she had decided she liked this brute, or at least was plenty willing to tolerate his presence. Her own pistons carried her at an easy enough lace while she followed, thoughts growing somewhat distant now.
It was plain enough that this had not been her first time in a deadly situation, and surprisingly enough she wasn't really thinking too hard on the whole thing. Her brain had carried itself to the past once more, if only to take recent events and make a few notes and comparisons. Falcon, it seemed, was almost the opposite of her past mate. Or at least an opposite of the brute that wolf had turned into. Unlike him, Falcon actually seemed to care, and that was saying something with her being a near stranger to this male. At least he was not yelling and telling her things were her fault... But Caelum comforted herself with the knowledge that the harshness the other had had only made him look weaker, needing to blame others for things out of his control. But she had to wonder if he, in that state of anger, would have let her be harmed in a situation like what had just happened. Gah, what did it matter? After all, the only brute anywhere nearby was Falcon. Why not take some interest in him now?
The whole comparison left her in an odd state. She was somewhat saddened, yes. But more than that, she noticed that hollow feeling she got. Obviously her old family was not going to be filling that space anytime soon. But was she ready for someone else to take their place in her heart? The answer illuded her and would require further consideration perhaps. She had once had a nice pack, so could she do it again? Maybe it was time to proove to herself that she didn't need her old mate to be happy. She needed someone who would love her as much as she loved them. That was her requirment for starting afresh.
Now that she had this idea, hey, why not consider it in full? She had no idea where she might find a new home anyways. Her main concern was finding someone she could trust. Trust was her other must have requirment in her mind. Caelum did not just give it to anyone who came along, it had to be worked for hard and truly earned from her. She had no belief in the idea of 'love at first sight' crap. Even back when she was happy, she waited till she knew Zephyr and trusted him with her life before accepting him in any way. They had to get to know each other. It even could be a game to her should a playful mood strike her.
Caelum didn't think herself unreasonable though. Really, it wasn't a huge expectation she was having of anyone. It was also most cirtainly doable. All she needed was someone worth her time. Well, Falcon had definatly made it to the top of her list. He didn't really know much about her, but still he had warned her of a danger she may not have see. Before it was too late. But it didn't mean she was absolutly sure he would get any trust from her.
At the question her expression turned circumspect. Was she going anywhere really? Pft, why would she ask herself that? A little bit of a smirk made it's appearance as she thought it over. She wasn't entirly directionless. Caelum rarely lost herself and most often knew where she was going to. But it illuded her now. The whole idea now was maybe she would find a new home. Whether in an existing pack or with a single male she was unsure. Her mind wandered for a moment before she entered reality once more with a reply at the ready, "I don't know. Maybe we're more alike than I figured. I don't think I'm going anywhere specific as it is, so yeah. Wandering. But what fun is it alone?" Her voice was smooth and light in tone but for the first time in a while it took on a slight flirtacious overtone. Not in a painfully obvious way the likes of which annoyed her, but a tad subtile. Moving on didn't need to be a huge pain.
